In this short video, Greg Ingleton reflects on his long-running work with SWAN Systems across South Australia and New South Wales, focused on the challenge of saving water while still maintaining public open spaces that people want to use.
Greg was first introduced to SWAN Systems while working at SA Water. Irrigation trials showed that scheduling irrigation using SWAN could significantly reduce water use, delivering around 30% water savings without compromising turf quality.
Building on that work in Adelaide, we are now working with Greg on projects around Sydney, including a farm using treated wastewater and a golf course irrigated with a mix of fresh and recycled water. Across all sites, the focus remains the same: understanding water use, scheduling irrigation carefully, and getting the best possible outcome from every unit of water.

If you’re managing turf and public open space under increasing water constraints and accountability requirements, SWAN Systems helps bring irrigation data into one place so teams can plan irrigation with confidence and protect both turf quality and budgets.
